Samsung Galaxy S20 Lite could launch

Rumors Roundup iof Samsung Galaxy S20 Lite

The Samsung Galaxy S10 Lite had a model number of SM-G770. And multiple reports suggest that Samsung is now working on two devices with a model number of SM-G780 and SM-G781B, respectively. But there has been confusion about what these numbers actually mean. There were rumors that Samsung is working another device dubbed S20 Fan Edition alongside the Lite variant. However, Sammobile reports that these are basically the same device that the company intends to launch in different regions. So, Samsung might launch Samsung S20 Lite as S20 Fan Edition in select markets.

Geekbench Listing

While the S10 Lite came with Snapdragon 855, its successor will feature either Snapdragon 865 or 865+. It has been confirmed from the Geekbench listing of the SM-G780B. The listing reveals that SoC in the device to be Kona with a base frequency of 1.80 GHz. Kona is the codename for SD 865 chipset. But Snapdragon 865+ isn’t an entirely different chipset; its SD 865 with a higher clocked Prime Core (up to 3.1 GHz). Geekbench listing of the Galaxy Tab S7 lineup revealed the same motherboard but it is now tipped to feature 865+. However, we are talking about a ‘Lite’ variant and it makes more sense for Samsung to stick to SD 865 for this device.
